A noable feat waa accomplished the other day by Miss Annette Kellermann, the Australian champion lady swimmer and diver, who swam two milee.2)l chains in the Yarra in th« fecord'time of 46min 30 2-ssec. The course was from the Church Street bridge to Prince's bridge, and, as Miss Kellermann undertook to swim at the rate of a- mile to the half-hour, in order to reduce her previous record of one mile in 32min 89sec, the measure of her' success may be gauged from the fact that she attained an average speed of a mile in 20min 34secs. The standard time for the distance is 28miii 30see. A feature of the-, perfprmanlce- was that the whole distance- was swum by means of' the double-arjn., or trudgeon, stroke, without a single change.
There is »'-vast difference between tbe Rud'ge-Whitworth. and other cycles running on New Zealand roads. You can't appreciate this wonderful cycle until you've seen it, but our catalogue and the interesting little book called the "Book of the Bicycle" will give you a good idea of its superiority. We -will post both books on request. — E. Reynolds and Co., Guyton Street, Agents.
