The anniversary of Nelson ia being celebrated to-day in glorious weather. The chief attraction is the Nelson Wheel Race, a meeting at which the chief cyclists of the colony are competing, including George Sutherland. Results: — ' . One Mile Cash Cycle.— G. Sutherland 1, F. Natrass 2, J. Arnst 3. Time, 2min « 2-ssec. Sutherland put up a New Zealand competition record in his heat, doing the mile in 2min 3 3-ssec. Stiibbs, of Wellington, won the 100 Yards run in 10 2-ssec.
