THE CHURCHES.

The services in the Primitive Methodifit Church to-morrow morning and evening will be conducted by Sister Amy, the popular evangelist of the Connexion. It will be remembered that a few months ago Sister Amy conducted a successful mission in the church and made a- number of friends in the church and town.

Large congregations are fully expected at the Baptist Church to-morrow, when the pastor, the Rev. A. Dewdney, will occupy the pulpit for the last time prior to his six months* holiday to England. In the morning a baptismal service will be conducted, and in the evening a farewell address will be delivered. On Monday evening the Church tenders to its popular pastor a farewell social, and a crowded attendance is anticipated.' During Mr Dewdney's absence the pulpit will be occupied by ministers of the denomination from different parts of the colony, who will take one or two Sundays each.

An address will be delivered in the Druids' Hall, Bell Street, by Mr S. J. Sullivan to-morrow evening, on the subject of "The Portraiture of Deity; or, Can a Man Know God?" The trend of" the address will be to show that God is- an unapproachable Being, dwelling in light; His message to ankind; God known by His works; the God of popular acceptance, not the God of the Bible; His plan respecting our planet and man upon it, culminating in everlasting goodness, which involves the abolition of all evil agencies, and the exaltation of justice and everlasting righteousness. All who arc interested are cordially invited.
