A WANGANUI CITIZEN SHOWS - THE WAY; ■' '■
Once more we aro indebted to a Wanganui citizen for a statement that throws more light on a subject of ever-increasing interest; "People 'have been deceived by false representations from time immemorial. No wonder they are sceptical of all claims endorsed by strangers, "residing in far-distant parts of the colony. It is no longer necessary to accept such endorsement; for local citizens are giving thei'j testimony^ and 'tis an easy matter for any reader to investijyato the correctness of such evidence as the following: — Mrs Stobie, Ballr Street, this town, says : "For a very long time I suffered a great deal with., backaphe T ,. I also had trouble with* th 6 sedrettoris'j. the same' being .very tliick- and^'cbirtaiping- 'sediment, '■ 1 Head I •■ a'clie's"'* ana 'giddiness were "tfery 'frequent I used many, medicines, but never got much good out of them. The only remedy ever to give, me relief was Doan's Backache. Kidney Pills.' I obtained thisi remedy at,»Wel- J ton's Pharmacy. In fact, I had fa;th in' ■it before I. used it,, as. it is a -specific and not a cure-all.* It relieved, my back, of al 1 pain, restored my secretions t to a natural state, and cured me of the ti'ea'daches and giddiness. I am sure that .anybody with disordered kidneys will get relief by using Doaii's Backache .Kidn^ ( Pill'si .>/.• Take no substitute.* Tt was "Dban's Backache Kidney Pills Mrs Stobie used; therefore, apk for the same remedy. Doan's Backache Kidney Pills are sold by all chemists and storekeepers at 3s per box (sixboxes 16s 6d), or will be posted on receipt of price, by Fcster-McClellan'Co., 76/ Pitt Street, Sydney, N'.S.W. But be sure they are DOAN'S.
Strongbow, on entering Waterford Harbour, observed a tower on one shore and a church on the other. Inquiring what 'they' were, lie was told it was the castlo of Hook and the church of Crook. "Then;" said, he, we must. enter and take the town by Hook or by Crook." Hence the proverb to this day.
• A monster boar was shot on the lea boundary, hot far from'Te Nuni, Auckland district, by Messrs H. O'Kane and Dunn. The. pig would weigh about 3 cwt, and his tusks were each 12in long, and formed a complete circle. Ee*was about nine years old, and had feet about the size of those of a yearling- steer,.
