A SUGGESTION.
Sir,— Might I, through the medium of. your -valuable columns, suggest to our up-| tO-date engineer (Mr Smithies) the' desirability of erecting a seat or two on the breakwater at the foot of Park Place. This spot' is largely used by boating-men andvothers throughout the rowing season,' 'and v constitutes an excellent vantage i ground from" which to view the numerous acquatic events that take .place almost every* evening during the summer months, and* is the finishing-post for- such races. Thfe only means of access is by scaling the , fences therefore I would suggest that aturnstile be placed in position as an easyj means by which to reach this delightful spot. This would do away with any future • likelihood of the fence being,, as it always is now, in a state of disrepair, caused by people jumping over, — I • am, etc., . - '
