The Licensing 1 Committee met in camera ,'< 'jwsterjday.to-'coiisider a letter frota. counsel for hoteffie'epers asking for, the committee to meet and hear an application for. .an, extension of hours to eleven o'clock ? /Jthe, ground of the application w^s that, committee's decision to close at 10,.q'plock . at the annual meeting was invalid, as pne member of .the committee who was present djd not, ; .yote, and hence ,the did not ; deciae in favour of 10 o'clock. 'The committee, this morning, would not admit "the -press or , counsel, ,but afterwards ' replied to counsel's letter, that they would not entertain the application . for a rehearing. It is understood ,that counsel will proceed' by' way of mandamus to compel the committee to" hear' argument- on the points' raised..
