Bid ' ding was slack throughout tbe sale ■ the majority of business was done afte the auction. * Opening sale at Taihape, 4th inst.- - There was a. large, attendance at thi ; sale, and the settlers expressed thei 1 appreciation at having stock sale started. Throughout the district ther are , large numbers of small settlers 1 and regular sales no doubt will be i •' great benefit to them. Both cattle am : sheep came forward in fair number* and we consider the sale, most, satis factory. -' ** Feilding sale, 7th inst.'— The yardin) of all classes of stock was large, an< the welcome general rain which pre vailed throughout the day had the bene ficjal result of slightly hardenini prices.
