Those taking part in "Britannia's Call to Arms .are requested to meet Sinior Bonom at 7.30 to-night in the .Drill The Wanganui Garrison Band repeated last evening the concert they had given' during the week in the "Opera House, the result being that jeiSw taken towards augmenting 4he Band's funds. The Band desire to thank all those who contributed in mating the concert such » success. /•> • The attention of ourWaverley frisnds v called to the grand concert in connection with the Athletic Association, which takes place" on Mondar, 17th March, The Wanganui Highland Pipe * Band will assist b/giving Scotch reel^ Highland flings, and sword dances, and with the- best local and outside talent a good night's entertainment is assured. There will also be a dance to follow. The Bangiuia'Concert Company— a strong mnstcal combination under the management of Mr Harry Hooper-^rill JF B *,^ th ? Ope I* HoMe on *wa»y. the 14th, when all lovers of music will have an opportunity of hearing' the talented chieftain, Bangiuia, who was the only artist specially commanded by their Royal Highnesses the Duke, and Duchess of York to sing in the Boyal train. Chieftain Bangiuia will be assisted by Miss Amy Hyde, gold medallist soprano; Miss Maude Lorraine, contralto; Horate to Pani, Maori mezzo-soprano; and Miss Frances Butt, pianist. _ The secretory of the Wancanui Horticnltural Society informs us that applicatio 3 for space at the autumn show at the Drill Hall, on Wednesday next, far exceed those of any previous occasion, so much so that the committee will have an exceedingly arduous task in placing exhibits fo advantage, double — and in some cases even treble — space being asked for. Te meet these demands, it has been found necessary to secure a luge number nf extra stands. This is very gratifying, especially when taking: into considenttios the long spell of dry weather, which it was feared would have a disastrous effect on 'exhibits..
