United I. v. College I.

This game was. played on Cook's Gardens on a fair wicket, -but 'the outfield waa very, rough. School won the toss and elected to bat. Wilder and Maunsell were tlie -first two batsmen and they had the bowling at their mercy right from, 'the jump, the score sheet registering .116 before the first wicket fell. Maunsell' made "107 before " he was got rid of, i and he played a fine innings. WUder (25), R. C. Smith (14), . R. F. Smith (15), and Abraham (13) were the other principal scorers in a total' of 207. The Uniteds lost one wicket in compiling 27, when time was called. The Uniteds were without Mar-

tin's services with the ball and Lowe was absent during the early stages of the game. The absence of these two bowlers at the start rendered the United^ attack very weak. Lowe, in the end*, cvmo out 'with the good average of 6 wickets for 36- runs.
