EXTENSIVE BANK FRAUD.
(Per United Press Association.) Eeceived November 24, 9.30 a.m. LONDON, November 23. A book-keeper in the Bank of Liverpool defrauded the institution of £170,000. A reward of .£250 is offered for the apprehension of Thomas Goudie, the Bank of Liverpool book-keeper, for forging and uttering cheques. The crime is attributed to gambling on the turf. Eeceived November 25, 9.30 a.m. LONDON, November 24. Goudie was in the habit of forging cheques in payment of turf debts. The cheques were drawn upon an account kept with" the Bank of Liverpool,' and tho cheques were afterwards presented through a clearing-house and various banks. Goudie failed to debit the cheques to the account, and circumvented the daily check with fresh transactions.
