. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 25. The cable re Major Wardill seems strange in view of the t fact- that on. March 15th the secretary of the New Zealand Cricket Council, wrote asking if the English team would be able to come to this colony; also- asking the terms. Correspondence passed between Wardill and the Council, and on September 18 Wardill wrote that it was not possible for the team to spare time to visit New Zealand. Last Monday a ' cable message- wa9 sent to Major Wardill expressing the Council's anxiety for ft visit of the English .team. So far, no reply to that message has been received.
