Second Day.. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 23. The weather was fine for the second day's races, and the attendance satisfactory. The' sum of .£22,318 was put through the'totalisator for the meeting, as compared with £20,029 for last years Spring Meeting. Results: — , Petone Handicap. — Aide-de-camp 1, Muscovite 2, Keg-ret 3. Dividends — Ringlet £6 ss, Muscovite 8s 6d, and Torowai 15b 6d. Several previous records " were fractured during the currency of the late V.R.C. spring meeting. ja.haki's '3niin. 2eec. is now the best Australian record for one mile and three-quarters. Drummer's time, 6min. 28 J sec, is the fastest

in which the Steeplechase, of about three miles, have ever been run ; whilst Hautvillers knocked no less than 2sec. off ' the previous Derby- record. The Musket blood once more asserted itself at the V.R.C. spring meeting. Trenton sired Revenue and Wakeful, who won £5175 between them. Niphetos is from a granddaughter of the Toxopholite horse; Beanba, the Oaks winner, claims Carbine's best son as her sire. Independence also is by Wallace, and boasts of the St. Simon cross, her dam, Elsie, being a daughter of the great Galopin horse.
