LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.

= 7*; • (Per United Press Association.) - HAWERA, November 23. . Six .sections in the Tokaora Estate were disposed of yesterday. '" Though the applicants were sufficient in number to account for all the sections, with the exception of the homestead and the grounds, cross applications made it impossible to allocate all. For instance, several applicants had put in papers for two or three sections 'each, but as soon as they had drawn one each- had to be content, while some of the unsuccessful candidates not having' applied for more than one section were left landless. The opinion is that, despite the few applications, there is an unsatisfied demand for land' in small sections. The demand is not catered for to the extent it should have been.'
