Messrs J. Laird and Sons say that if residents want their gardens to look gay and bright in the autumn they should obtain a nice selection of cactus dahlias, such as the firm offer, and they will not be disappointed. Now is the beßt time to plant.

There is a great sale of cotton goods at Messrs J. Paul and Co.'s, purchased by private tender from one of the oldest wholesale firms in New Zealand, now retiring from business. The purchase includes muslins, pinks, ginghams, zephyrs, piques, galateas, flannelettes, etc., purchased at discounts ranging from 45 to 75 per cent.
