At the Police Court, Gin Ayon was fined 10s, costs .£lO 11s and £100 deposited .by the Union Company forfeited, on a charge of entering the colony without payment of the poll tax. The Magistrate declined to believe tho defence, that the accused was identical with Fung Foo, to whom tho Magistrate at Wellington issued an exemption, certificate.
