WANGANUI BICYCLE CLUB.
The annual inctting of the abov^ held last c\ciung in the Borough Conn cil Chambers, was presided o\cr by Di Hatherly.
MINUTES.— The minutes of last aunual meeting wore read ami con firmed.
NEW MEMBERS.— Fourteen new members were elected.
REPORT AND BALANCE-SHEET— Tho annual report (which we publisher yesterday) and balance-sheet were rear and adopted, on the motion of tlu chairman, who complimented the of fleers of tho club on weathering what for various reasons, had proved a (lib astrous year for most snortinsf bodies He particularly complimented the club f hon. secretary for tho manner in whicl the year's work had been earned out With leterence to the proposed sportf club, he thought it a desirable iuno with much to recommend it and if a committee were apointed to approach the bodies interested, there should bo no difficulty in eventually bringing the matter to a satisfactory conclusion. The all-round Bavin- wouh" ba considerable, and the ultimate b?nr fits very great. He hoped the various clubs would avoid selfishness, and 100 l at the project in a broad light. OFFICERS— The election of officcrE resulted as follows- — Patron, the Pro mier; president, His Worship th Mayor, Mr A. Hatriek; wce-prcßidents Dr Hatherly, Messrs W. E. Tuck am G. Carson; captain, Mr D. Rowe- v>e captain, Mr P. C. Price , hon. secretary Mr W. R. Remington (the nresent lion secretary stating that he would not b able to aeain accept the offieeV hon treasurer, Mr Aahwell committee Messrs P. Murray, McNaucht, Mvii Wright, Coe, Druminond, Burrell Young Turner, Parsons, McDonald Hope-Gibbons, Williams, Yoyce, am Harknesa; Board of Control, Meesre Me Naught, Crichton, and luuir; auditors Messrs W. Rodwell and A. O. Hardy hon. surgeon, Dr Tripe (re-elected b acclamatic ) and a hearty Vote o' thanks was accorded to him for pas' bervices. On the motion of Dr Hather ly, a hearty vote of thanks was passec to the retiring secretary. OPENING OF THE SEASON— I' was decided to open the season on th' th of September — weather permitting — with a olub run. GENERAL — A vote of sympathy was passed to Mr G. Carson, viee-prcrideni in his illness, the members present ci pressing the hope that he would soo' be himself again. The committee werr empowered to appoint delegates to re present the .club on. the Centre. V should be mentioned that Mr A. Coe for the second year in succession, ha won the club's challenge trophy, witl the accompanyine gold medal. D Hatherly was accorded a hearty vofr of thanks for presiding, and the mcc ing concluded.
