THE LONDON MARKETS. (By Electric Telegraph, — Copyright.) (Per United Press Association.) LONDON, January 22. At the wool sales the bidding is more spirited, and there were few withdrawals. The merino classes and crossfcreds are extremely firm. To date, there are 47,114 bales catalogued, and 29,526 sold. The following prices were obtained for New Zealand ohps ;— Aramoho, 7£d; Gear, B|d ; Pawkawa, lOJd. Mutton— Both New Zealand an 4 River Plato unchanged, Lamb— Prime Canterbury, 4|d ; fair average, unohanged. Rabbit skins— Good demand—Australian, firm j New Zealand, about one penny deoline. WELLINGTON, January 22. The Agent-General cables: — Butter, 98s; no sign of improvement. Cheese market firm ; buyers very shy.
