ADDINGTON STOCK SALES.

(Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January 17. There wero good entries of stock at Addmgtou to-day. Fat cattle numbered 215, mostly steers. The sale commenced badly, but improved on the appearance of a southern dealer, who took several lines of steers for freezing purposes. The prices were: — Steers, .£5 2s 6d to 10s , heifers, tfl £8 ; cows, 12u 6d to £6 15s. The remainder were practically the same as ]ast week. Dairy cattle met with a slightly better demand, tho prices ranging from £1 7s 6d to .£6 15s. Among the lines of storo cattle sold wore some 18 months old mixed sexes at £2 2s Qd; useful cows, £3 ss ; and 6to 8 months old mixed sexiS, 19s. The fat sheep entry was r«ther mixed in quality, though competition was good. Prices were a shade under last week's, Freezing sheep brought 13s 3d to 15s j unfinished sorts, lls 6d to 12s Bd, best ewes, 11s to 14s: other sorts, 8s to 10s 6d; merino wethers, 89 to 10s Gd. In the fat lamb entry there. wore seicral unfinished lines, and values generally showed a decline of from 6d to Is; freezing lots realised 10s 9d to 13s 0d ; other sorts, 8s 6d to 10s 6d. Thero was a large entry of store sheep ; as in other sheep classes, the demand was good, but prices were lower than last, week's ; 2 and 4 tooth made from I2s to 133 6d ; sound-mouthed ewes, | lls to 12s 9d; other sorts, 8b to 10s, lambs, 5s 2d to lls. Pigs met with poor demand ; baconers, 27s to 82s, or 2dp er lb; porkers, 20s to 80s, or 3d per lb, stores, 16s to 235; 'weaners, 7s to 12s, •
