A MAN'S THUMB PULLED OFF.
While a visitor to the Studholmo Junction sale was holding his hoise with tho reins twisted around his thumb, ho was subjected to a vpry painful accident, by the animal pulling back and dragging his thumb off.— Timaru Post. STRUCK BY A CALLING TREE. Mr William Mudgway, of Levin, met witli an accident' recently that nearly cost him his life. He was lit work near Mr Bartholomew's mill at O'hau/when a falling treo struck him on the back, se\erely bruising him.
