AN EXCITING EXPERINECE.
Mr Svansen, who was firing his bush at Ngapaeraru last week, had a narrow escajio of losing his life. After lighting tho wood in several places the high wind blowing soon spread tho flames in all directions and ho found himself encircled by a belt of fire. Ho managed to crawl through a half green patch but he was on\ eloped in smoke for hours before lie reached tho outskirts of the bush, which ho reached at 10 at night after waudering for hours in blinding smoke, nearly suffocated, quite exhausted and suffering terribly from thirst. —Dannevirke Pipss.
