CONGRATULATIONS FROM CHRISTCHURCII. This afternoon Mr A. Ilatruk received tho following telegram, which speaks eloquently for itself — i Well done, Wangamu. Your excellent example should (ire all New Zealand. WM. REECE, Mayor of Cliristchurch. The Mayor hns despatched the following telegrams to the Premier — "At mass meeting last night the following resolution was unanimously cained —That this meeting appioves of the Premier's suggestion Unit Wanganui should equip 2o mounted men for (he third Contingent to be sent to the Tiansvaal, and recommends that a committee bs forthwith appointed to take such steps as may bo necessary to cany such suggestion into effect,' "Wanganui will provide 25 men and 25 horses, and mil reimt'to the Government j£1125 to cover cost of their equipment and transport in terms of your telegram. God save the Queen." "Will you kiudly amuige to have our men passed here, and m&truct local Stock Inspector Bluiidell to attend to the selection of Wauganm Contingent's horses."
