MESSAGE FROM THE AGENTGENERAL.
(Per United Prees Association.) WELLINGTON, January 18. Tho Premier has received a cable message from the Agent-General, dated London, 17th, at 5 p.m.:—"Victorious charge at Slingersfohtein, in which Madocks and Now Zealanders behaved most gallantly. Officially recorded that General French conveyed cordial thanks to our men." The Governor has received a cable from the Hon. J. Chamberlain, that the New Zealanders distinguished themselves at Rensburg.
