LEAGUE OF WHEELMEN.

A meeting of the Wanganui Centre of the League of New Zealand Wheelmen was held last night. Present—-Messrs M'Naught (chair), Tuck, -Remington, James, and the secretary. Mr R. G. M'Nnen was elected to represent the Manawatu Club, and took his seat. Mr J. Coombe, consul at Feilding, forwarded his report of the Boxing Day -ueeting, and a vote of thanks was passed to him. The Chief Consul's report of the Wanganui BicyJe Club's Boxing Day Meeting, also New Plymouth Carnival Committee's Meeting, held at that place on tho 29th December, were also read. The matter ol" the competitors leaving the track mjlie heat of the Half-mile Cliaimrionsii^p on Boxing Day was discussed, and H was decided to censure the riders. For un<lue interference in the abovo went and also advising a rider during tho progress cf a race, although repeatedly warned by the officials, it was decided to disqualify an attendant from tho enclosure or acting in auy capacity in connection with cycling e\entß under League rules during the pleasure oi the Centre. A rider was charged with using abusive language towards an official at the New Plymouth Meeting. On being brought before the Executivo he expressed regret for his conduct, and tendered an apology. Ai'tei" fully considering the matter, it was decided to severely ceusuro the offender aiid fine him 10s, the membeiß deciding thus leniently as it was the first complaint they have had before them. Future offences of this sort will be very severely dealt with, the Executive recognising that in the interests of the snort tho nuthowty ot the othcials must be upheld. The chief consul, Mr T. H. Jamea, received a hearty vote of thanks Jpr his full nnd complete reports. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
