THE BUBONIC PLAGUE.
AN OUTBREAK IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA. ADELAIDE, January 14. A sailor died suddenly from what the doctors believe to he the bubonic plague. A second man, suffering simil*rly, has been taken to the hospital. - There are no details. ADELAIDE, Januaiy 15. Leading doctors are satisfied that it is a case of true bubonic plaguo that is now - in the Hospital, The patient has been placed in strict quarantine. Appstein, the victim, arrived from New York in November last, and deserted hia ahip. During the voyage a number of the crew suffered from stomach troubles, hut the ailment waa not regarded as serious. A boy named M. Cann, who contracted j the disease from Appstein, is now in the Hospital. Efforts'are being made to trace the origin of the outbreak.
