'Hdfmeyer and tho other Afrikander Bund leaders have appealed for subscriptions f6r tho Boer wounded and widows. Tho text of ihe Boer ultimatum, when published, caused almost universal indignation at Capetown. Premier Schreiner, when closing the sessidn of the Cape Assembly, affirmed it was his duty to save the colony from the vortex of war.
1 LONDON, October 13. Sir William Dunn, member of the House of Commons for Paisley, has resigned tho \honorary representation of tho Orange Free State in London. He denounces President Stcyn's suicidal act in deciding' to Jom the Transvaal ' and say it is at variance with the burghers' wisbes. He supports the Hon. J. Chamberlain. The Hon. Mr Asquith advocates an unbtoken front in support of the Government. Tho Mansion House fund, for the relief of the refugees, has reached j>25,000.
