HUNTERVILLE CALEDONIAN SPORTS.
The Huntorville Caledonian Society had again the misfortune of meeting with bad weather on the occasion of their anmial.sports, po&tpohed. from, the Blh.insfc and helfi yesterday. , Rain till about noon, and consequently militated against the attendance. The ground was heavy, and owing to the unfavourable weather several events wero struck off the programme. Mr, J Pawsou, the' enorgetio seoretary, carried out, his duties most efficiently, and wu's ably backed up by the Committae. Mr A W Moldrum acted as' •starter. No times wore taken. Following are the results : 100 Yards Handicap: P Cuff, 10yds, 1; A W Watts, flyds, 2 ; J B Woods, 4yds, 3. Won by a few inches. 120 "Yarde Handicap : H N Beasley, owes Gyda, ll* Ross, owes Byds, 2 ; Monkley, sch. 2. Won easily, Arnott falling while in the lead. 220 Yardß Handicap : J B Woods 11yds, A W Watts, 7yds, Ross, 15ds, 3.. Won easily. James and Arnott, who <voie leading, fell. High Jump ! Charles (3in), sft lin, I ; Maher (3in), sft, 2; Quinh(4in), 4ft llin, 3. / Bagpipe Music (3 competitions): MeKechnie, 1 j Chisholm, 2 ; G.*ir, 3. Mile Handicap; C Wilson, 70yds,l{E Reid, GOyds, 2', W W Reid, 70yds, 3... Sevetf'others started. Won comfortably by Several yards, Reid makidj* an unsuccessful effort to displace Wilson. Hurdle Handicap.' H N Beasley, 14yds, 1; A W Wattn, 3yds, 2; C McDonell, 13yds, 3. Ross and .Woods also started. 1 Won with ease. 440 Yardß Handicaps W Arnott, 26yds, 1 ; Maher, 29yds, 2 ; D Malone, 14yds, 3. A capital race; won by a few inches. Bicycle Handicap, 2 miles (local): J Bowio'k, 650yde, 1 j B Taylor, 800 yds, 2. Ten others started. 1 District Race, 150 yds: C. Ferry, 7yds, 1 ; McLean^ 9yds, 2 ; Cuff, scratch, 3. Eleven ; started. , MoLaughlin won the Boys' Danoing 1 Competition, and Mitohell was second.
