WATER CARNIVAL.

St. George's Swimming and Water Polo

To-night at the Corporation Baths the popular St George's Swimming and Water Polo Club hold a grand water carnival, consisting of 19 events. In addition to the ordinary swimming and diving events, a number of novelties have been introduced, including old ladies' high dive, fonr tableaux (England, Ireland, Scotland ana All Nations), two polo matches, and a ship on fire. The committee of the St George's Club set themselves out to provide interesting ana amusing events, and a perusal of the attractive programme should convince our readers that a most enjoyable evening can be spent at the Baths to-night in participating in the fun. The club aeserves patronage, an 3we hope to see a big attendance. The first event starts at 7.30. The following handicaps have been declared:— SO Yards (juniors): F. House ana E. Thurlow lOsec, E. Purnell 8, J. Borlase 0, C. Campbell 4, H. Taylor sch. 50 Yams (seniors) : F. Ansley Bsec, G. Whitcombe and H. Thomson 5, W. Brennan and E. McGregor sch. Pltjnoe (hanaicap) : Whitcombe sch, Kurth 4 feet, McGregor,' Thomson and Halligan 6 feet. 100 Yards (handicap) : McGregot and Brennan sch, Pay 3sec, Whitcombe 5, H, Thomson 6. Polo Teams: (Ireland) Halligan, Piper, Whitcombe, Kurth, Morgan, Sparks and Blyth. (Scotland) McGregor, Mowteu, Perrett, Day, Ansley, Uiquhart and Brennan. The winner of the mai3en race will be re-handicapped if found necessary. "
