The N.Z.L. and M.A. Co. (Limited). The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following London market cable, dated 23rd March, 1898 :— Wool — The sales progress firmly. Sinoe close of last sales washed and scoured merino super., and scoured merino medium and inferior aro Id per 1b higher. Slipe merino, greasy and washed merino medium and inferior and fine greasy crosjbrod are Jd to Id per lb higher. Slipe crossbred, scoured merino are par to jd per lb lower. Medium washed and scoured orossbred, and coarse greasy, washed and greasy merinp lambs medium and inferior are par to Jd per lb lower. Other descriptions unchanged. The total quantity catalogued to date is 91,000 bales. Frozen Meats— Mutton market firmer Canterbury mutton is worth 3jjd per lb Southland 3Jd, Wellington 2£d. Lamb market weak. Canterbury lamb is worth 4Jd per lb. Tallow— Market quiet. New Zealand fine mutton tallow is worth 22s 6d per cwt, good beef do. 20s Gd,
