The Waverley-Wauganui Match.

The above game was concluded yesterday afternoon, Wanganui proving victorious, as was expected, by a large majority. Although completely overmatched, the visitors played throughout with determination, and for so young a club— m its infancy, in fact — they deserved every credit for the manner in which they strove to keep down the scoring of their opponents and to increase their own. The report of tho match in yesterday's Herald ■was not quite finished, and the scores in lull are here appended as follow :— Waverluy. Wanganui. No. 1 Rink. D. Taylor J. D. Greig D. Coghill J. S. "When the game was n'uished, the Wavorley team were photographed in a group ty Mr R. Anderson, and a framed copy will bo presented to tho club as a souvenir of their first match and of their visit to Wanganui. Mr J. Muir, on behalf of the Wavedey Club, returned thanks for the hospitality extended to the team, who had heartily and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Three dusty cheers were then given for the Wangauui Club, after which the visitors were driven in a brake to the Railway Station. Tne afternoon being a perfect one, numbers of players were on the green, and some enjoyable scratch matches resulted. The game between Messrs Bennie and Purnell m the third round for the Senior Bowls was also played, the former winning by 20 to 16. Those members desirous of participating in the match against Feilding next Wednesday are requested to place their names on the black-board at once.
