This match was resumed on Cook's Gardens this afternoon. The Uniteas, who were strengthenea by the inclusion of Stuart, a new arrival from Hastings, batted, and the scores, at the hour of outgoing to press, were : — United B. Boyes, b W. B. Cave 4 Kitchen, b H. B. Cave 0 Stuart, not out 15 Rev. Ryburn, bW.B. t aye . . . . 2 Coe, not out 2 Extias ,1 Total for 3 wickets . . . . 24 Some of the applications for relief sent in to the Napier committees by sufferers from the bush fires are stiangely worded. Here is an extract from one by a widow — " I have in family four dairy cows, two pigs, a horse ana two little children, all these being by my first husband, and two goats in full milk, and a baby by my secona husband. All of the animals was lost in the fiie."
