The wind steadied in the afternoon and the long range shooting was proceeded wilh. The wind, however, wasvery tricky and several competitors missed all their shots at 700 yds. It was decided to push on with the Companies' Team Match and Nursery Match so as to allow the northern men to catch Monday's express. Several competitors have finished in the Nursery Match and left Oamaru, bnt there are others who have not yet finished, and it would have been wiser if the Association had postponed this match till Monday. However, in fairness to the Council, it should be stated that the men themselves were 00 anxious to getaway that there was no option but to go on with the Companies' Teams Match. Ten teams are taking part, and consequently the prize money has been reduced to £15, £10, £7 and £4. Only two ranges have been completed viz., 200>ds and 500vds.
