A SENSATIONAL ACCIDENT.
(By Electric Telegraph— Copyright.) (Per Unijted Press Association.) (Beceived March 16 at 10 a.m.) Melbodbne, March IC. A sensational accident occurred m a mine at Bendigo. The cage was being lowered to' the 3000 ft level, when the grippers caught the wood at 1100 ft, and about 400 ft of slack wire rope poured on top of the suspended cage, almost strangling the occupants, who were three hours in a perilous position before being released.
