The Times publishes a diagram showing that the imperial average price of wheat in the past year exhibits a rise ot 44. a quarter, the average being 30s. 2nd,, whereas in 1896 it was 265. 2nd. The average price of barley in the past year was 235. 6d. a quarter, in 1896 it was' 223. lid., being a rise of only 7d. a quarter. Tbe average price of oats was 163. 1 id. a quarter, which U 2s 2.1, a quarter higher than in 1890.
