At Eltham, on the Bth inst., we had a fair entry of cattle, but owing to the continued dry weather there was very little life in the bidding, and those disposed of were in favour of buyers. At Hawera, on on the 10th hist., considerably more than the quantity of stock advertised came forward, but competition was not keen, consequently some lines had to return unsold. We quote: — At Eltham — Yearling heif ers,l4s tolfis ; weaners, 7s 6d to 10s ; calves, 4s to 5s 6d ; 18-months steers, 255; 2 to 2 j-y ear heifers, 23s to 255 ; 2 J-year steers, 30 to 40s ; fresh condition cows, 35s to 365 ; springers, £3 to £4 ; 2-year steer, 32s to 345; yearling steers, 15 to 17s.

At Haweba — 2-year steers, 30s to 325; 2-year heif era, 23s to 255 ; store cows, 25s to 30s ; yearling steers, 15s to 17s ; 3-year bullocks, £3 4s ; springing hoifers, £2 7to £3 ; backward heifers, 35s to 40s ; weaners, 7s to 11s ; 2J-year steers, 37s to 38s 6d ; dairy cows, £3 to £4 ; fat cows £2 16s to £2 18s.
