CHARITABLE AID IN AUCKLAND.

Auckland, March 11.
The Auckland City Council has resolved to levy & rate of 3d in the £ for Charitable Aid. It was stated that of the present rates, 2s in the £, Is 7d was swallowed up in interest on loans. The finance is going to the bad at the rate of £5000 a year.
