Jubilee meeting yesterday afternoon, and will remain in the mindß of many as closing one of the most enjoyable race rheetingsheld throughout the colony; Fortunately tHe westher cleafed npasiSe day wore on, and as the sun shorieout thS course, with its well-filled stands and lawn, presented a very pretty appearance. The' sum of £9040 passed through the totalisator, at the hands of Messrs Neylon nnd Spriggens, as against £7035 for the second day last year, making a total for the Jubilee meeting of £18,790, as agairist £14,015 last 'year — a substantial increase of £4775. As to tho concluding races, Mr F. Tilley had tho black horse Bona FM« in excellent condition, and the son of Sou-; Wester, after winning the Campbell Handicap in good style, was brought out for the Smith Farewell Handicap and jufst got home, thus winning the donble event; Hermosa again pioved herself a very speedy filly in winning the Watt Handicap, and the locally-owned Splinter was answerable for tho Turner Handicap, which he won after a great finish with Tommy Atkins and Oracle. Mr Evett deserved all credit for tho general excellence of his handicapping, aud the starting by Mr Chavannes was first class, giving every satisfaction alike to owners and the public. The management of the gathering could not have been improved upon, and the strictest punctuality was observed in starting.
