THE TICK PLAGUE.
Identity of the Disease With. Texas ( Pever
(By Bleotrio Telegraph— Copyright.) (Per Unitod Press Association.)
Bbisbakb, October 21.
The report of tbo special commissioners sent to Amerioa to inquire into the tiok disease states that the identity of tbe Queensland diseaio with Texas fever is conclusively established, and no effeotive cure has yet been discovered. The repott urges the necessity for further experimental work for tbe flisoovory of a practical means of checking the pest. It can hardly be doubted, the report says, in view of the facts brought to light relative to the climatic conditions regulating tbe spread and permanent location of ticks, that the groater part of Australia is in no little dangor of being ovor-rua with them. Snob, experimental work is of national importance, and should receive the support of all the colonies.
