THE MUSWELL LODGE MURDER

Tho victim of the Muswoll Lodge murder, which occurred in February last, was Mr Honry Smith, a retired iron morohant. The two convict* who aro regardod as principals in tbe affair have eluded pursuit for weeks. They had ongagpd conjurers as a moanj of obtaining funds, and are bolieved to have been concerned in a largo number of burglaries. When arrested they tried to shoot the capLors. Tho oiDJurora havo boen released. Tha clue was first obtainod by a brother of ono of tho convicts describing a lamp recently lost and which was ideulical with the ono found at tho scene of the burglary.
