The inquest on the body of Eva Hornsby, the infant found buried in the garden at Dean's house, Wmton, was continued to-day. The evidence showed that Minnie Dean got the child and JB9 10s from its grandmother between Milton and Claredon on th» 2nd May, and that she loib the train on the off sid«, and that the child was not afterwards teen alive. The letters which Mrs Dean wrote to Mrs Hornsby were also produced, and the child's clothing found in Dean's house was identified.

Detective McGxath said the woman admlttea that she got a. child between Invercargill and Danedin in the month of May, but said she was acting as agent for s> person at Milton to whom she had handed it.
