Clave jo, an infantry captain, shot at and wounded the Marquis Estrella, Governor of Madrid, The outrage was committed at the midday reception, and the offender was wounded by the Governor's aide de camp with a sabre. Clavejo, who was given into oustody, admits that for some time past he had hated the Governor, who prevented him marrying a lady pa the grounds that he was already a married man. Ciave'io has Been condemned to be shot, and the sentence will be carried out to-day.
