Northoroft, S.M, the master of the steamer % >gunguru was fined 80s and 6s per heaslfor 0 four passsngsn over his oertifleate, with' t cost £1 18s. The master of the steamer s Invincible was also fined £2 and costs £1 6 8s for proceeding on ths , voyage from Whangarei to Mgungnru without having a certificate in force applicable to suoh voyage. D. B. Cruiokshank, Chairman of the Northern Steamship Company, left busi- ■ ness hut night in usual health, and died suddenly at his residenoe, Bemuera. Patriok Wm. Byan, licensee of the Empire Hotel, was fined £2 and £8 costs, for alleged ill-treatment of a dog.
