Chbistchtjboh, February 14.

The calendar for tho Supreme Court, whioh opens on Monday, contains eight charges against 12 persons. At the Supreme Court to-day Judge Denniston gave judgment in the case of Bulhvanfc (appellant) v. Wilson (respondent). Appsllent had been fined by Mr Beotham, R.M., for refusing to admit the respondent, sergeant of police, into his licensed house, and the conviction was endorsed on hia license. It was contended at the hearing that no power existed to fine undor the section for refusal, and that a certain form, i.e., looking at the register, not having been complied with, the endorsation was bad. His Honor held that the inspection of the register was a form prescribed by the Legislature as a condition precedent to accrual of right to make an endorsement as part of the senteace, and did not think that the Magistrate was justified in assuming jurisdiction without complying with the procedure which created it. He thought, however, that this Court could amend the conviction by striking out such part of it as ordered the endorsement of the license, and gave judgment accordingly.
