The Premier intimated that the Gvernment would abolish the primage duty on ad valorem and fix a dnty on goods. Hobabt, August 10. The anouncement that the Government intend to abolish the Agency-General in London _nd recall Sir C. N. Braddon has caused considerable suiprißo. The general opinion is that it is a mistake.
