New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's Report.

Tho Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following Loudon market cable, dated October Bth 1892 :—

Frozen Meats — Beef : Forequartera are worth 3£d per lb, and hindquarters 4sd per lb. Mutton : Tho market is unchanged. Canterbury mutton is worth 41 per lb, and Wellington 3jdper lb.

Tallow — The finer sorts alono are in demand, the common qualities being neglected. Quotations — Frae mutton tallow is worth 25s 9d per cwt, and good beef 21s 9d per cwt.

At 11 15 on Saturday night severe earthquake shocks were felt at Duuedin and Oamaru, the direction being east to west.

While " Joe " Manners was dividing up some fish cought in the river last night, opposite the Hbbald Office, he discovered amongst the haul a trout, which on measurement proved lo be 12$ inches in length. It is no doubt a specimen of the brown trout, hut has obtained its silvery sheen through the brackish water at the mouth of the river. This is the first small trout caught in the river, and it is thought by experts to have been locally bred. •
