London, October 17.— Tho publishers of Sir Morell Mackenzie's hook, anticipating that it might possibly bo confiscated, sold and distributed a largo number of the books secretly. Tho importation of the work into Germany was effected previously to tho book appearing in England, by means of packages so branded that tho heavy import duty on tho material which tho packages wore supposed to contain completely deluded tho authorities as to tho actual nature of their contents.
The Times, in tho course of an article on tho quarrel between Sir Morell Mackon/io and tho German doctors, declaros that tho former's diagnosis of tho disease from which the lato Emperor Frederick was suffering was wrong, though it is impossible to say whether the treatment proscribed by tho German doctors or Sir Morel Mackcuzie wo? right.
