We regret to notice, however, by latest cable from Sydney, that both lines, with the addition of potatoes, show a downward tendency on a weak market; we hope that shippers are not too sanguine of this proving s satisfactory and payable outlet for accumulated stock, which will only have the effect of causing a. rise in quotations locally, which can only be temporary and quite unwarranted. The fruit market is almost dependent upon Hobart for supplies, and apples and pears are the only lines offering, rilling at prices from 6s 6d to' Bs, and 9s to 17s respectively.
