ANOTHER THEATRE BURNT. The Theatre Royal at Bolton, Lancashire, was destroyed by fire after midnight, It is supposed to be the work of an incendiary, MR SEXTON'S HEALTH. Mr Sexton, M.P., for Sligo South, who was recovering from his recent illness, has suffered a relapse, and is now in a serious condition. FOOTBALL. 1 he principal football journals deprecate sending a team to the colonies, and predict a certain failure! THE LATEST LOAN. A Victorian loan of one million an:l a half at four per cent is announced. The minimum has been fixed at one hundred and four, and the loan is already quoted at three par cent premium. Eighty-five per cent will be payable on February 21st, NEW SHEARING MACHINES, A French machine invented for shearing a sheep in five minutes will shortly be sent to Australia. IHE POSTAL CONTRiCT. Sir Graham Berry, Sir Saul Samuel, and Sir Arthur Blyth had an interview to-day with Sir Henry Holland with reference to the new mail contract. Sir Henry Blyth atrongly urged the immediate signing of the contraot without including the parcels j post, Sir Saul Samuel, insiruoted by Sir Henry Parkes, insisted on the inclusion of parcels. Sir F. D. Bell was not instructed j in the matter. After di&ouaeion, it was virtually tgreod to Bign forthwith,abandoning the parcels post clause. If the colonies concur, Mr Raikes, Poatmoster-General, will conclude a mail agreement with Italy identical with the one arranged in 18S2, governing the French and Australian mails.
