Connell's Patent Movable Sheep Race.

The labour and difficulty of nnloading the top compartments of railway sheep truoka has been to a wonderful degree made eaay and convenient by the invention having the name of tho above heading, which haa been patented by Mr J. A Connell, of Waitara, to whom ahippexs of aheep will in futnre have reison to be thankful, if tha invention ia adopted by the railway department. Tha old and tedioua metbitf of nnloading aheep from railway truoka uas been entirely revolutionißed by the introduction of this maohlne at the Waitara railway atntion, where it haa been in use for some time, and those who have need it have certified to its utility in the highest terma. With the nse of this patent no ihnnting of tracks or lifting of heavy and not too aornpulomUy clean staging is necessary, as the machine ia wheeled along on rails parallel to the railway line, and not even a platform need be constructed for the pnrpoie of nnloading. The inventor, armed with first-dlaes testimoaials from anch gentlemen aa Messrs A. A, Fantham, Geo. McLean, J. Wicks, »nd others of Hawera. Si A. Breach, * Opunake, Thos, Bayly, and the Manager of the Frezing Company at Waitara has gone to Wellington to bring the -matter bfc'ore tbe Minister of Public Worka and Mr Maxwell, with a view of getting tho department to adopt hia patent. We should not think that in tha interests of humanity and * the convenience of graziers and shippers of live stock, he will have much trouble in carrying his objeot into effect.
