DEFENCE OF THE COLONIES.
An important conference was held at the Admiralty yesterday between the Colonial Ag. Nts-General and Admiral Sir Cooper Kay, Senior Naval Lord, on the subject of Colonial defences.
It has transpired that the conference which waa held on Wednesday besween the Colonial Agents-General and the Senior Naval Lord of the Admiralty was merely to atcertain how many torpedoes would be required for the defense scheme of each colony.
