Wellington, May 27. A daring jewel robbery was perpetrated last night, or early this morning, at Jenness's (jeweller) shop, lha robbers effected an entrance an entrance at the back of the buildiLg by cutting oof,u f , tho panel of the door, thus turning the key they carried nine locally-manufactured lanterns, which had been arranged so as to be darkened. They took 26 gold watches, 40 silver watches, 20 solid gold alberts, 15 English alberts, 20 ladies' gold alborts, 40 to 15 gold nockleta, 24 silver necklets, 12 ladies' silver alberts, 6 dozen of silver rings, 12 gold broochps and earrings, including 5 diamond seta valued from £3 to £35, 12 gold and diamond scarf piny. The total loss is estimated at between £1500 and £2000.
